MillDuck Show Track Record

MillDuck is "consistently competitive" at the AAA National Show having won:
-  National Champion Brown (Best Brown in Show) in 2012,  2013,  2016,  2017,  2018  &  2022.
-  National Champion Black   (Best Black in Show)  in 2013   &  2023

-   Most Successful Small Breeder (less than 50 animals) in 2018,  2022 & 2024
Note:  AAA National Show was not held in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid.
Whilst we have a clear breeding program, we believe it is important to compete at shows to test our breeding outcomes against the best within the Australian Alpaca Industry.
Each show season we attend approximately 7 -10 shows – competing  at the most highly competitive shows ie National Show, Royal Shows and Level 1 shows. On average we have 5-7 alpacas in our show team each year - the number we take to a show being restricted by the size of our trailer.

Our objective from a showing perspective is simple - we want to benchmark our genetics and breeding program against the best in Australia.

We are proud of the fact that our coloured alpacas continue to be successful in both show formats (Age Championship Shows and Colour Championship Shows) throughout Australia, where we have won:
  • numerous Supreme Colour Awards in most colours, but predominantly fawns and browns ie Supreme Brown, Supreme Black, Supreme Medium/Dark Fawn and Supreme Light Fawn at Colourbration & Colour Classic shows – the largest Coloured Championship Shows in Australia
  • Supreme Champion Awards at Regional & Royal Age Championship Shows
  • Age Championship and Age Reserve Championships at the Australian National Show
  • Best Brown Alpaca & Best Black Alpaca in Show at the AAA National Show  - refer above.

The below table outlines the number of "Broad Ribbons" won by MillDuck alpacas - demonstrating our consistent performance at the Championship, and Supreme level over a number of years.
