MillDuck Breeding Females

   Each year we release a small number of females in the following categories:
  • Weanlings                                 (8-12 mths old)
  • Young Females                          (12 - 30 mths old)  
  • Proven Breeders                         (3 years plus) 
  • Show Girls                                  Any Age

All MillDuck females are registered with the Australian Alpaca Association (AAA) - enabling you to register their progeny (cria).  On purchasing your female we will provide full details on her parentage, birthing and/or mating dates, fleece statistics and medical history.   
​We have mentored many new entrants to the alpaca industry and will always be on the end of the phone if you have any questions or concerns.  We have photos on the birthing process along with notes which we happily give to people experiencing the joy of birthing (alpacas!) for the first time.  No question is a silly question - we remember what it was like when we bought our first alpacas!

Females are priced taking into consideration their genetics, age, temperament, colour, breeding history, conformation, fleece qualities, show record (if shown) and pregnancy status.

Weanlings:    (8-12 mths old)
Prices for weanlings start at $1,400 (inc GST)


Young Females:     (12 - 30 mths)
Prices for young females depending on their genetics, show career, colour and pregnancy status (maidens, mated or unmated) will start at around $2,200 (inc GST)


Proven Breeders   (3+ years old)
Our Proven Breeders are ideal for the person starting their alpaca journey and those wanting to introduce MillDuck genetics into their herd.  These ladies are likely to have had a successful show career (some having won Championships) but more importantly - are experienced and proven breeders having already had at least one cria.  Our mature ladies (6+ years) will have had at least 3 or 4 cria - so will help you learn the birthing process.  Prices for our proven breeders start at around $3,300.
With the experienced girls - you will be able to see their progeny as in most instances the females being released have replaced themselves with the next generation of daughters.

Show Girls will be priced according to their show performance and the show career of their progeny.  As a general guide they will start around $3,300 (inc GST) with our elite show girls in a higher price bracket.

We are happy to put together package deals (including matings) if you purchase more than one female.

All females are sold with a:
  • fertility guarantee 
  • a live cria guarantee, if mated to one of our champion coloured stud males.
​Nothing can beat the wonderful experience of seeing a young cria born - taking its first "wobbly" steps.  It warms our hearts. We are happy to share this with you.

Up Town Girl is a proud girl being true to type with excellent conformation.  She is the complete package having retained her fleece qualities, proven herself in the showring and as a breeder, producing two ribbon winning cria.  Her rich brown colour with black points is an added bonus.

MillDuck purchased Disco Rose after watching her win the Jnr Medium/Dark Fawn female class at a AAA National Show.  She has not disappointed having produced many broad ribbon winning progeny. 
Show Results:
Up Town Girl went to two shows placing 2nd & 3rd in the Junior Brown Female class.  Her show career ended at the Jnr age as we were keen to have her start producing cria.
Pregnancy Status:
Up Town Girl is mated to no other than MillDuck Uluru  (36 Broad Ribbons including Best Brown & Champion Intermediate Male at AAA National Show).
The last mating date was: 20 February 2023.
This mating gives the astute buyer access to rarely released MillDuck genetics.
​A live cria guarantee is provided with the mating.
Progeny:
This girl is an excellent mother having successfully raised two cria.
Her first cria - a fawn male - placed 2nd in a class of 11 at the 2020 National Fleece Challenge.
Her 2nd cria by Uluru won 1st Jnr Brown Female at the 2023 Berwick Show.  After seeing this cria we had no hesitation in repeating this mating.

Harmony is pregnant to MillDuck Trail Blazer - last mating date:  6 March 2023.  Trail Blazer (Sire:  Softfoot Maudib) won 25 Broad Ribbons including Reserve Champion Adult Male and Champion Brown at the 2017 AAA National Show.  He also won a Supreme Age Championship at a Regional Show. 
A Live Cria Guarantee is given with this mating.
Progeny:
Harmony is a proven breeder having produced one cria.  He was a very nice brown boy, however was never shown due to having a number of other MillDuck "brown" boys in the same class.
Fleece:
Harmony has a very dense fleece with a high frequency crimp style.
