MillDuck Breeding Females

Each year MillDuck release a small number of females across the following categories:

Weanlings (8-12 mths old)
Young Females (12 - 30 mths old)
Proven Breeders (3 years plus)
Show Girls (varying ages and pregnancy status)

All MillDuck females are registered with the Australian Alpaca Association (AAA) - enabling you to register their progeny (cria). On purchasing your female we will provide full details on her parentage, breeding history, mating dates, fleece statistics and animal husbandry history.

We have mentored many new entrants to the alpaca industry and will always be on the end of the phone if you have any questions or concerns. We have photos on the birthing process along with notes which we happily give to people experiencing the joy of birthing (alpacas!) for the first time. No question is a silly question - we remember what it was like when we bought our first alpacas back in 1993 ! Yes, we have been breeding alpacas in excess of 30 years - so have a wealth of experience which we are happy to share.

Females are priced taking into consideration their genetics, conformation and fleece traits, age, temperament, colour, breeding history, show record and pregnancy status.

Weanlings: (8-12 mths old) Prices for weanlings start at $1,500 (inc GST)
Young Females: (12 - 30 mths) Prices for young breeding females start at around $2,200 (inc GST)
Proven Breeders: (3+ years old) Prices for our proven breeders start at around $3,300 (inc GST)
Show Girls (varying ages) Prices start around $3,800 (inc GST) with our elite show girls in a higher price bracket

Our Proven Breeders are ideal for the person starting their alpaca journey and/or those wanting to introduce proven
MillDuck genetics into their herd. These ladies are likely to have had a successful show career (most having won Championships) but more importantly - are experienced and proven breeders having already had at least one cria. Our mature ladies (6+ years) will have had at least 3 cria - so will help you learn the birthing process.
With the mature girls - you will be able to see their progeny as in most instances the females being released have replaced themselves with the next generation of daughters.

We are happy to put together package deals (including matings) if you purchase more than one female.
All females are sold with a:

fertility guarantee
a live cria guarantee, if mated to one of our champion coloured stud males.
medical history
up to date with vaccinations and trimmed toenails.

Nothing can beat the joy of seeing a young cria born - taking its first "wobbly" steps. It still warms our hearts. We are happy to share this wonderful experience with you.

Name	MillDuck Zeeta. A proven breeder with an excellent show career. Zeeta is a proud upstanding girl with "true to type" conformation. She is a rich brown colour with black points. Both sides of her pedigree ooze proven "coloured" genetics. She had a very successful show career attending 8 shows to win 5 Broad Ribbons.

Sire:	MillDuck Trail Blazer. (SMBr) Son of renowned Softfoot Maudib ET Trail Blazer had a very successful show career winning 25 Broad Ribbons including: - Supreme Brown at the AAA National Show - Reserve Champion Adult Male at the AAA National Show - Supreme Champion Huacaya at a Regional Show.
Dam:	MillDuck Disco Queen (SBBlk) Daughter of MillDuck Manhattan (exported) Disco Queen placed every time at her 6 shows with three first placings. She placed 2nd at the AAA National Show. Being a bay black, Disco Queen was shown in both black and brown classes based on the discretion of the steward.
Pregnancy Status: Mated to MillDuck Uluru Live Cria Guarantee - conditions apply	Zeeta will be sold mated to MillDuck MillDuck Uluru. Uluru had a very successful show career winning 36 Broad Ribbons including Supreme Brown & Champion Intermediate Male at the AAA National Show. You can't get much better than that. A son of Uluru has gone on to win Supreme Brown at the National Show with a daughter winning Supreme Black at the Nationals. As the saying goes "the proof is in his progeny" The mating to Zeeta should produce an excellent cria. A Live Cria Guarantee will apply to the mating.
Fleece Stats: (Trim On)	Zeeta's 4th fleece stats were: FD 25.4, Sd 5.2, CV 20.6, Lgth 65, CF 84.3. Zeeta has great density & structure with a high frequency crimp style.
Show Career:	Zeeta placed every time at her 8 shows from Junior through to Adult classes. She won five first ribbons and three second placings. Her Five Broad Ribbons were: - Champion Brown Female - twice at Melbourne Royal (as a Junior & Adult) - Reserve Champion Adult Female - twice - Best Brown.
Progeny:	Zeeta is an easy birther and very protective mother. Her current cria (by MillDuck X-Calibur - 20 Broad Ribbons including Supreme Brown at the AAA Nationals) is growing out very nicely and is destined for the show ring. Whilst having some brown tipping her fleece is black against the skin. Once shorn she will look blue black.

For Sale	MILLDUCK CALYPSO A YOUNG BREEDING FEMALE SOLD
Name	MillDuck Calypso Calypso is a very pretty "eye-catching" young female with her entire breeding life ahead of her. She stands out in the paddock with her unique markings and "true to type" conformation. This is a reluctant sale. She is only being offered for sale due to her colour which does not fit our breeding objective of producing solid colours.

Sire:	MillDuck Stringy Bark: Stringy Bark was very successful in the showring winning 21 Broad Ribbons including Supreme Brown & Reserve Champion Intermediate Male at the AAA National Show. He has produced some excellent cria with one fawn male winning Reserve Champion Intermediate Male at the AAA National Show.
Dam:	Banksia Park QLX Amberlee: Amberlee had a successful show career prior to entering our breeding program which included a 2nd in the highly competitive Medium/Dark Fawn class at the AAA National Show.
Fleece Stats:	Calypso has a very uniform fleece, with great density, excellent structure and lustre. Her 1st fleece tested: FD 18.7, Sd 4.5, CF 98.5.
Show Career:	Has not been shown.
Pregnancy Status:	Calypso is a maiden with her entire breeding life ahead of her. She can be purchased either open to be mated to a male of your choice or mated to either MillDuck Uluru or MillDuck Trail Blazer.

Name:	MillDuck Ballroom Dancer: Dancer is a proud upstanding female with "true to type" conformation. She demands attention catching your eye in the paddock. She is being released as we need to reduce our numbers. It is a regretable sale.

Sire:	Yenaminut Evokateur: Evokateur is an elite stud male from the Precision Alpaca Group. Evo has sired many Champions including the 2024 AAA National Supreme Champion.
Dam:	MillDuck Disco Queen: (retired) Disco placed every time shown including a 2nd place at the AAA National Show. She has produced some excellent progeny with one of her daugher's winning Champion Brown Female at the Nationals.
Fleece Stats:	Dancer has a nice soft handling fleece, with very good density, medium crimp style and excellent length. Her 1st fleece tested at: FD 18.0, sd 4.7, CF 99.2 with an excellent staple length of 105mm.
Show Career:	Not shown due to insufficient room in our trailer. Priority is given to our browns and fawns.
Pregnancy Status:	Dancer is a maiden with her entire breeding life ahead of her. She is ready to mate and can be mated to one of our Champion Coloured Stud Males eg MillDuck Uluru. Uluru is the Sire of MillDuck Zulu Warrior Woman who was National Black Champion at the 2023 AAA National Show. Our Stud boys are not available for outside matings with the exception being if you purchase one of our females. You also have the option to purchase her "open" to mate to a male of your choice.
